The Last Family Training Run!

Wow!! I have had so much fun training with all of my marathon buddies(everyone) and seeing the smiles and hearing all the "heys and good mornings." I did 2-2 intervals today and I haven't done those in a while, but a lady name LeAnn did it with me. She just was up beside me and asked me my name and I told her mine. She said,"I've been lookin for someone my speed," and I said, "ok." So we did all our training together today. I enjoyed it!! Well I'm excited for myself about this week approaching--getting more and more near the actual day. I'm also excited for and proud of ALL OF YOU TOO--MY MARATHON FRIENDS. I hope everyone is blessed this week and stays mentally ready and is safe. Thanks for reading my blogs on my journey as a 1st time marathoner and to Mark and Robin for creating a new thing in Mississippi for Mississippi Marathoners. Way to go everyone. WE ARE MARATHONERS! Oh and for those who had to drop out for illness and other reasons, you all did great too. It still took alot of discipline and training to get to whatever point you all got to. long time no write

hey marathon friends I havent been on to tell you all what I been up to. I've still been workin out jus not runnin this week more so of a light week with just weights and playing basketball. It was fun! i worked up a great cardio workout and it motivated me to play the next day. I love basketball that's my favorite sport! Hot, Hot, Hot!

Today it was sooo hottt! I worked out around 5pm doing abs and weights til 6:00 and then I did the spin fit class at 6:30. Man you all, the spin fit class was fun and challenging! I enjoy it thou. I'm ready for tomorrows chanllenges in the gym as well. It's up at 6am for weights and back later for my milage. Later guys have a great night, morning, and day!:-)

Breezy, Breezy, Beautiful Saturday!

Hey everyone! Wat does my tittle remind you all of? yea I thought about it Saturday, it's sort of like "Easy, Breezy beautiful Covergirl" I meant to write Saturday but I didnt have time so now im here for the days I've missed. So my Saturday workout was sooo great! I was late got there around 8:25 and i started walkin for the first 5minutes then ran and walked for 2-2 intervals. Then at the first water break I started doin 2-1 runnin 2 and walkin 1. I caught with alot of you guys and laped some too. I had fun thou. Everyone was saying "hey u caught up," or "didnt we just see you?" I would laugh and say yea. I had calculated my time and I wanted to be in the parking lott at 9:55a.m. so I kept pushing myself I almost made it. I got there right at 10 and I said as long get by 10 im good. When I got to the parking lott I kept running til I got to the truck where everyone was, I was like "wats a lil more, it's not dat far of a distance." I finished 7 miles in 1hr and 35min and I'm so proud! this mornin I got up at 5:30a.m. and got to the gym alil after 6 for a female weight training class. I love it my trainer is great! I'll be goin back lata today for my milage and I'm either doin 6 or 7 miles today everyone yea! Oh and I bought some new workout clothes! I love them! Beautiful Saturday Morning for a Run:-)

Hi everyone!! I don't know about you all but I sure did have a great time out there this morning. The breeze was just right and it was so nice to see everyone after 2 weeks of not being with the group. My sister came out too and she noticed me speaking to everyone and everyone speaking to me so she said "Everyone's so friendly." I told her "yea we are a big group who's working together." I also added a new addition to my workouts which is running with 2lb weights. I got alot of "oohh she has weights" and "weights? i can't carry those I have enough to carry myself." It was funny and I just said "oh their not that bad, it's just 2lbs," with a smile"

I had an extremely great workout today!! I finally got to the gym around 5pm. when I was supposed to go after I got out of class around 1. I ate one time today at 11:30a.m. which was bad. I got on the tredmil first (the one that is basically like your are outside running) and I completed 5miles. I ran 3(everyother mile) and walked 2. :-) Then it was a little after 6 when I finished and I had planned on doing the spin fit class at 6:30. It lasted an hour and I really worked in their too! We did 45minutes of bike work and 15minutes of abs. Man those ab exercises were tuff some of them and I needed that. Hopefully I'll be a little sore tomorrow. I'm already a little though from the bike seat, but I'll be ok. I worked out from 5p.m. til about 7:30p.m. Well I finished and left really sweaty, cold and sleepy. Good night fellow marathoners!!

Great weekend Workout

Hello my fellow marathoners! I've missed talking to everyone and it's been like ten days since I was last on here. I've been working out everyday for the most part. I went out of town two weekends in a row so thats why my mom and I have not been meeting on Saturdays. We're back now and will definately be there on Saturday with God's help! I stayed at a hotel this weekend in Texas and we worked out one day walking each level of the hotel, and it's a huge hotel. The hotel has like two sides with floors going up to 14 on one side and 10 on the other. Anyways I ran stairs on the side with 10 then i ran back down. I tried to find my mom and our friend who was running with us but they were on the other side. So when I got in the elavator I saw them and they told me which floor they were on and I meet them. We walked around each floor twice and then ran up the stairs to the next level all the way to the 12th floor which was my floor. On that particular morning I got up at like 5:15a.m. I was so ready but everyone was asleep enjoyin those hotel beds so I went back to sleep. Then Sunday morning I got up around 6 and tried to get the crew together but again we went later around 9a.m. There is a fitness building called the Veranda and it's very nice. There are tvs and everything. We did 5miles and I ran alil over 2 and I did it all in an hour. I felt great afterwards and I also did abs and arm work. I feel a lil sore today. Bye!

Nice day but Cold!

It is sooo cold outside! I overslept for my 8:30 class. I was sleepin so good my goodness my bed was callin my name but I had to get up which I hated. Anyways I didnt workout yesterday at all which i hate but Im thinkin that I won't take off on Friday since I missesd yesterday. Ive been stayin on campus all week too and thats not usual for me cause Im normally at home. I will be workin out today at least once thou. My workouts are goin great! I love doin what I do! Early morning Scare

This morning we got out around 5:15 and it was just 4 of us. It was really foggy out and we could hardly see ahead of us. Well as we walked we saw a white cadillac that drove around a couple of times. When it did thou it never made a full circle and came back, the man would come after 5 or 10minutes. So we kept watch and tried to get da tag number. Come to find out it was a used car but we couldnt get the tag number. Anyway Yolanda started her 3rd mile the car cut her off when she was runnin and scared her. Then the same car cut us off as we were turnin to head the same way she was comin from. We waited on Yolanda and told her we betta go in and they said he had to have a motive for doin dat. I took off toward my house and told them to come on. Debrah drove Yolanda home and we went in too. I did my crunches in my room and finished my workout. Now im gettin ready to leave for school I jus had to write about this so people be careful when ur are out there PLEASE GO IN A GROUP, STAY TOGETHER,TAKE A CELL PHONE, KEEP SOME MACE, AND BE WATCHFUL AT ALL TIMES! Workin out and Gettin rid of Clothes

Hello out there in Marathon land! ive been on da computer a while now checkin n deletin mail. Today i did my crosstrainin for 40 minutes at the Walter Payton Gym i did crunches worked on biceps inner and outer thighs and swats. Saturday I did a total of 5miles cause i did 1 before i came to meet the group. My mom did a total of 8 cause she did 4 before meetin up wit da group.Anyways i did workout everyday except Friday cause its my off day. I was goin to run stairs but it didnt turn out like i planned so i still jus took off. I want to tell everyone about dis story in Empowering Women Magazine. The story was about gettin rid of old stuff..clothes. The story was called "dress for success." But the main things I got from it and want to tell u all is "your clothes make a statement. What are they saying about you? If it is outdated, no longer fits, or doesn't make you feel good when you wear it, let it go." That is soooo true we should definately get rid of the stuff if any of this is true and plus when we keep losin weight we wont have a choice! LOL i know i put on a skort yesterday and it was like so baggy n da front even thou i havent worn it n a long time probly since last August or so. I dont know about u all but I LOVE seein results like those! Good nite :-)

"Dripping Sweat"

This morning I had a great workout!! When I got out I was sooo energized and talkative early in the morning. I was gettin on my sis's nerves and ma's a lil but thats ok cause I was only pushin em more and encouragin em. Anyways I had on my waist belt along with my tights that make my legs sweat. Everywhere sweat was fallin and I didn't mind. Now I'm ready for whatever the day's challenges. I was goin to workout again today to get 2more miles on da tredmil but I'm goin to a GOSPEL CONCERT TONIGHT FEATURING THE TRI-CITY SINGERS! It's goin to be great! Have a great day Marathoners!

Fallin asleep during Program

Yesterday, my mom and I went to a Jazz performance @ my school. She had already taken a small nape in the truck, and once we got in there she fell asleep again. Now I didn't think I was too but I guess because the atmosphere was cool and she was right next to me I couldn't help it. Man I kept dozin off! That sleep was callin my name, so when I got home I hoppped right in the bed. I read a couple of pages in a book ontop of the bed then hopped in it after about umm 2 pages lol. I went to sleep shortly afta 10p.m. I set my alarm on my old phone 4 4:45a.m. cause I jus got a new 1 and don't know how to work it dat well. I was the first 1 up in the house and I went around wakin up my sis and my mom. I was sore from yesterday and doin stairs on Tuesday. My sis stayed in this morning like yesterday. there's a total of 5 females wit us in the mornings includin my sis and we mix up our workout. we walk the first then run and jog the 2nd. If there's a third we do sprints splitting the numbers between everyone. If not then after that we do lunjes, crunches, more sprints, jump-rope,swats and anything we can think of to mix up our workout. I love it thou! It's like old times for me cause I used to get up in high school and do the same before class to get it out the way and b energized 4 da day. The back of my legs are sore along with my gluts but ill b fiine! Lata Marathoners

Runnin Stairs

This is the second time I've blogged today. Now I'm sleepy but I had to come backe casue I worked out again after this morning cause I only did 2miles and later today around 3p.m. I went to run at the gym on campus called the AAC and I ran the stairs along with a group of adults apart of a program called the Biggest Losers. I had already started when they got there and I was well on my way. The second one was a bit more challenging, but I finished of course the same way I started--going hard. I thought positively and pushed myself as much as I thought I could. Now I'm refreshed and I have to do some work although it's gettin late but gotta do it!

It's a brand NEW DAY and I just finished running and walking. I walked the first mile fast then my partner Yolanda and I ran the 2nd without stopping. Once we get to the stop sign close to my house we push it in or take it home. What a stretch! It is a totally different experience running on the road thou thats for sure. I had a grreat weak in workouts thou and last nite for my cross training I did 50 cruunches before gettin in bed. I'm proud of myself and all the others out there apart of the Marathon MAKEOVER group. I capitalized makeover because it's a LIFE MAKEOVER which means this is very HUGE. It's going to change our whole life for the better in many ways and all of our ways will be different but still in some ways the same. I havent blogged for a week, but I'm still doin what I need to do and I think about bloggin on a daily basis so if I don't get to write I'm with everyone in spirit. I really had a great time Saturday doin my long-slow distance and I did a total of 6miles cause I got up at 6a.m. to workout with my sis and motivate her. D'ann walked with Morgan and me and we had a blast talking. I thank God for this beautiful day and I know He is going to bless it and ME in someway and allow me to be a blessing to others. Havent worked out but have a testimony

I havent worked out since Wednesday. I was in an accident on Tuesday on my way to school when this man came out of the street he was supposed to be stoped on and hit me. I tried to break but it wasnt enough, he hit me on my side. And my car went flyin in dis lady's yard. I hit da gutter or sewer thing where da water falls and went over the ditch and came right upbeside a tree. It could have ended up worse but it was by God's grace dat I was safe and I thank HIM.

A day that God made

It's Monday!! Yea and i workedout. I didnt do my cross trainin last nite which was cruches cause I feel asleep. Today I walked and ran on the tredmil three miles. I ran about 1.25mile. Then I worked on my inner and outer thigns plus crunches. I finished and went straight to the caf to eat. I hadnt eaten a meal since about 11a.m. But i did have cake and ice cream cause there was so much of it bein given away today because of votin day and I couldnt resist.

What a beautiful day!

On this beautiful day, I slept late and didn't go to church like I should have but I was tired and needed more rest. I got up at 10:30a.m. and started doing work by 11. While doin so I had a bannana and when I left the house I had 2 slices of cheese and crackers. When I got back home around 2 I guess I ate turkey wings( baked), a slice of cornbread, and green beans. I didnt go back for seconds, and afterwards I had two girl scout cookies and it was good. Then later I ate around 7 the same thing. Now I am going to do crunches for my crosstraining.

My workout was great and so was the bread!!:-)

I enjoyed my workout today. I ran the whole time at a great pace pushing myself to go a little faster up the hills and pushing it out in the end. I asked someone when I got back to the building what time it was and she said it was 10:39a.m. Then I asked Robin what time we started after I stretched and went in for some of that good smellin cinnaman bread. She told me we started about 10:20 which means I ran two miles in like 19 minutes!!! Wow! I was thinkin I ran them in like 30 minutes cause I thought we started right at 10, but I did my mileage alot faster than I thought. I ran some this week though so... Like Mark said a little goes a long way, and I focused on what he said while I ran by not trying to take long strides but shorter and faster ones. I had three slices of that sweet cinnamin bread!! oh it was soooo goood!! I wasnt gonna have anymore but 2 pieces then I was gettin ready to leave and I looked at the table. I couldn't resist and Robin enticed me even more by saying have another piece... so I did. It was a really small piece so..Then the rest of the day I ate a sausage egg andcheese crossaint bout 4 (with tostitoes) and water. Then I ate a bowl of cereal and I just ate 3 girl scout cookies after I woke up. Not too much but I believe I had alil too much sweets and suger. dats ok I believe I earned it and I'll burn it back off. Im about to eat some chili now cause i havent had too much real food jus gotta work on my timin and eatin more small meals and snacks throughout da day.

I meant to blogg but fell asleep!!!

Last nite I had the computer ready and everything but I feel asleep in front of the tv watchin the Mavs vs Heat game which the Mavs won!:-) So I went to bed, but I did workout for like two hours. I was on the tredmill for an hour and did 4.27 miles. Next I worked on inner and outer thighs and did abs and swats. Those are my target areas. I really feel it today in my stomach and legs which is great cause you gotta have dat wen u worked out hard. I feel great and today is my off day!! Tottles

Workout 2xs Today!!!

I worked out earlier after my last class around 2pm, well I only went to 1 class today I was tired and slept all morning. At the gym I played basketball for bout 45 minutes to an hour then did crunches and swats three sets of each. I did ab work on two different machines. Then I came back to da gym for my class I normally do called Major steps @ 7p.m. to 8p.m. I was alil late but when I got there I worked as hard as I could and I worked up a great sweat, enjoyed da class, and danced too!

Monday and Tuesday workouts

Today I walked everyone on campus of course in order to get to my classes. Afterward I went to meet my cuzin and I drove to Hattisburg where alot was goin on cause it was fat Tuesday. While there I walked around da track and looked at people's rides and stuff like dat. That was my workout for today. I did plenty of it all day long. On Monday I was so proud of myself because I played basketball for an hour! That's somethin I haven't done for a really LONG TIME! I had lots of fun playing and working on techniques then I got on the tredmil and did two miles in like 27minutes with walking and running. I ran for bout 3laps or so.

Today is a new day and I am ready for my challenge of working out. On yesterday I wasn't sure as to what I was going to do for my cross training but I figured it out rather quickly as I was sittin at my sister's practice. My cousin got up and started shootin around and I looked out on the court and said "Yea I'm going to play a lil basketball" I haven't played in a while! I had fun and worked up a good sweat!

I worked out but it was a late one. I came home and finally got on the tredmill. After taking a break I fell asleep and was awaken and told to get back out there. I did even though I was sleepy so I tried to rush it as much as I could. I stayed on for bout 32min then got off and told my mom how long and how far I had been and once again she was there to push me saying "Get back on you are not finished you have one more mile to go," she said. I was treading those last three laps but I said it's not that many and got back on. So I finished my three miles and did a cool down. My time was ok but slower than normal. I did it though!
